The City of Russellville has an immediate opening for a Tax Clerk.
General Duties and Responsibilities: Assists with preparation and mailing of property taxes, franchise taxes, licenses and fees. Assists in collecting payments by way of mail, direct deposit, or walk-in customers; makes proper entries; balances cash drawers daily. Issues permits and/or licenses after receipt of payment; assists in preparing bank deposits daily. Monitors delinquent accounts, adds late charges, and forwards reminders of non-payments. Balances multiple bank statements. Assists with preparing monthly and end-of-year reports. Accepts inquiries and/or complaints from the general public and forwards to appropriate personnel. Answers telephone, processes mail and assists with other office duties as necessary.
Additional Requirements: Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by one year previous work experience. Knowledge of financial management systems, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchase order systems, etc. Must be bondable.
