Public Meeting Announced for Improvement Project on U.S. 79 in Logan County

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (May 15, 2023) – A public meeting has been scheduled to present alternatives for an improvement project for U.S. 79 in Logan County. The meeting will take place Thursday, May 25 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Russellville High School. The meeting location address is listed at the end of this release.

Representatives from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet along with a consultant will be available to share information and answer questions. A survey will be available for attendees to fill out and turn in before leaving the meeting.

CITY OF RUSSELLVILLE SPRING CLEAN-UP EVENT

This is a city-wide event designed to provide an opportunity to discard unwanted debris that has accumulated on your property over the winter months. Collection crews will begin curbside pick-up beginning May 8th – 27th.

HOW THIS WORKS

Residents should place unwanted items at the curb for collection. Collection for these items will fall under routine brush routes.

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED

The City of Russellville will not pick up tires, TVs, and other electronics (such as computers, printers, scanners, tablets, etc.), construction debris, paint and paint thinner, motor oil, and other hazardous waste. 

FREE CITY DUMP DAYS

During the Spring Clean-Up event there will be free dump day every Saturday 7:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M. (OR UNTIL DUMPSTER IS FULL) During this time period, the City will accept items from residents. This will be located at the Russellville Street Department 345 W. Second Street, please bring proof of residency. This opportunity is available only for citizens residing within the City limits of Russellville.

City Telephone System Outage

Due to a hardware change the telephones at the City of Russellville will be unavailable on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 1:00 P.M.  The estimated down time is 30 minutes.  During this time telephone calls will not complete.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Effective immediately:

The City of Russellville Water Department can no longer accept change in excess of $5.00 for payment.  We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.  We appreciate your understanding.

The City of Russellville has partnered with Nexbillpay to extend additional payment options for our customers.

All you need is the following:

  • The customer/account number (located on your billing statement, do not include route # or any dashes).

  • Payment Method (debit card, credit card or check)

  • Nexbillpay assesses the following transaction fees:

Debit/Credit Card Payments:

  • Online - 2.75% of the transaction or a minimum fee of $2.50

  • Phone - 2.75% of the transaction or a minimum fee of $2.95

Transaction fees will be calculated and disclosed prior to finishing your payment and will appear as a separate charge on your debit/credit card statement.

Electronic Check Payments:

  • Online or by phone- $2.00 fee

All fees are paid directly to Nexbillpay. The City of Russellville does not retain any portion of the transaction fees!

  • Payments made after 11:59 p.m. on the fifth (5th) of the month will not be credited until the next business day.A late fee will be assessed to the bill.

  • Payments made after 11:59 p.m. on the fifteenth (15th) of the month will not be credited until the next business day.Accounts will be placed in disconnect status and have a fee of $35.00 assessed to the bill, even if interruption of service has not occurred.

AGREEMENT DISCLOSURE

If your account is disconnected or in the disconnect process, you MUST contact our office BEFORE you make a payment. You will not prevent disconnection or have your service restored if payment is made without contacting our office FIRST!
